Green Bay, Wis. – July 29, 2008- In a continuous effort to fulfill its dedication to improving customers’ wireless experience, Cellcom recently activated the Sugar Camp cell site. This cell tower is located north of Sugar Camp along state Route 17. It provides improved service continuity to those customers in or traveling through Oneida County.
Cellcom’s team of engineers regularly tests its network, listens to customer feed back, reviews network data and gets input from company sales and marketing representatives to determine locations for new cell sites.
Each site provides coverage and calling capacity for an area called a cell. When a Cellcom customer places a call on a cell phone, the call is sent to the nearest cell site. The site sends the call through Cellcom’s network of cell sites where it is delivered to the receiver. When a new cell site is added to the network the area has increased calling capacity and service continuity.
“Customers want to be able to rely wholly on their cell phones,” said Dan Fabry, chief operations officer of Cellcom. “Cellcom is committed to improving coverage and speed of voice and data services. With the activation of this cell site, we are able to deliver these services to our loyal customers.”
This cell site is added to the already 372 digital cell sites in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Cellcom’s renowned network is customized to its rural markets and customers.
Cellcom is a sister company to Nsight Telservices. It is the largest cellular carrier based in Wisconsin with more than 80 retail and agent locations. Cellcom’s retail presence nearest the newly activated cell site includes Cellcom’s Rhinelander retail store located at 1419 Lincoln St. in Rhinelander.
